Listening to the great album “Heavy Soul”, the track “Up In Suze’s Room” begins to play, never before have I heard a song of such poetry and imagery from a man I like to consider comes from the same kind of background as me. I kept listening to it over and over again, dissecting ever last word, knowing that there is a film waiting to be made out of this. I have always carried a writing book with me ever since I was 10 where I imagined my first ever stories, but this story of a man lost in the moment with his dream girl spoke to me like nothing before. It’s such a sweet and realistic tale, one that I knew I had to make at the best of my artistic abilities.
Writing this film has been nothing short of wonderful and painful at the same time. My love of film making and writing has been put to the test with “The Feeling Spreads” but 12 months of hard work have finally paid off. The story has got the same amount of passion and excitement as it did when I started writing it, with the help of Paul Weller as my inspiration, this film will clutch at your very core and make you wonder what makes you happy as a person? What obstacles do you need to come over to become your very best? And most importantly, is there someone out there to share your joys and sorrows? This is my story, one that I have been longing to tell and one that will make a mark on those who watch it. - Jack Harris (Writer/Director)
